89/365 My Girls

They spent the day here and I got about 300 photos of them. :) They just keep posing for me. This is one of our favourite spots - at the top of the stairs with all that beautiful natural light flooding in from the stairwell window. They also let me be a funny hairdresser today ("do the hairdresser voice Grandma") so I could brush out all their knots (and a bit of gum in Norah's hair - at least that is what she said it was).   We decided on messy side buns. :)
Busy day with Easter egg painting, fort building, tea party - we opened the tea set I had packed away for 4 years - and a round of "Trouble". Norah won but just by a few moves. We also dug out their Mom's collection of Red Rose Tea miniature tea pots.
They thought it would be best if they stayed until midnight or a sleepover - whichever I thought was best.
These are exhausting and precious days I wouldn't trade for anything.

86/365 Banana Bread

If I cut it thin enough there are no calories.
The 365 is lame today - it's food - and that means either I am extremely busy or have zero creativity in me right now. But I am posting a photo.
Actually I am liking all the white.

With fresh King Oyster and Brown Shimeji Mushrooms.
Don't be overly impressed - we ordered from Chef's Plate and it took under 30 minutes to pull together.

78/365 Deer

Found this herd on todays walk. There were close to 30 of them at one point but they were pretty spread out. They see me and they stare at me but as soon as I attempt to walk closer to them,  they bolt. And once one starts running they all run expect for one or two who stay back to keep an eye on me.  It is hard to get close enough for a good shot.
I do like the one that is leaping though.

63/365 SNOW!

The good news is it is so windy here that our driveway often blows clear into the empty lot next door. The bad news is that when the wind is from the North (which it usually is), it carries the snow through the park beside us and deposits a 4' high and deep snow bank across the bottom of our driveway.
Here's hoping we don't have to repeat this clearing tomorrow at 7 am so David can get to work.
Thankful for a good strong street right to illuminate the work and Harold here to do most of the lifting.
Well, actually I am mostly thankful I am standing inside the house with a camera right now. :)
Ten more cm of snow is due tonight and another 2-3 tomorrow. March is sure coming in like a lion.

60/365 Oatmeal Cookies

I don't bake. If I am in the kitchen my cooking skills usually begin with garlic and onion. And thank goodness because we would weigh a lot more then we already do. We keep sweets and treats out of the house. But last night we finished supper and both had a yen for some treat. Usually that means seconds of supper or jam on bread. Today I just felt like making oatmeal cookies. We will enjoy a couple tonight and then send the off to the grand girls.
