271/365 Ray Of Sunshine

I love this girl.
She is such a ray of sunshine in my life. A girl after my own heart. We spent an hour tromping around the swale today and she could have gone another hour but we had to get back to the house.

270/365 Happy Birthday Isla

Today is Isla's third birthday and we rejoice greatly in this little miracle. We will not forget that day three years ago when she came into this world so very early and fought to survive. She has come so far since those first few weeks in NICU and we have so very much to be thankful for. Isla has been such a blessing to our family.

What a wonderful birthday cake her mommy made for her.

Today we celebrated Eva's Ninth birthday with this beautiful family. Eva is growing into such a lovely young lady. We are so proud of her.

This beautiful mosquito eater was on the walkway in the park next to our home. There has been plenty of them this year which is why it has been a great year for mosquitoes or the lack thereof.

David turned 65 and we celebrated with all our friends. Mark came home from Wpg too. it was a fun weekend.

I have been pulling out the fall decorations for the past couple of days and this year added a couple of new scented candles.  I lit them.... and I am remembering my Mom who left us one year ago today. Miss her phone calls, her emails, her hugs.

Despite two days of washing down everything on the deck, the spiders rebuilt it all in one night. They are industrious and their hard work did not go unnoticed with the morning fog.

I had time for one quick photo tonight. It has been a busy last couple of days We hosted the executive team for supper. Hot appetizers are on the island and cold on the table.  It was a very nice evening and warm enough for some to visit on the deck and see the sun set.

This is Charlie our resident 13 striped ground squirrel. The girls named him. He moved in at the beginning of the summer and has been very friendly.  That is the entrance to his home behind him....although I have been finding a couple of other tunnels in the garden.
