29/365 Baking with Miss Eva

Oh if she could only stay 4 yrs old for few more years. I am loving this time with Eva. Today we baked, we painted flowers and trees and skies, we created with playdoh and we had afternoon tea and cookies together with the oatmeal cookies we made earlier. For four hours we never left the kitchen (except to check on what Norah was up to). Norah helped too but preferred her play cookies and toys now and then.

It was simply delightful!

24/365 Sorting

Breakfast at Grainfields with the girls and their parents this am. Perfect place to hand them back. :)
Eva sorted the jams into a family - the papa pile, the mama piled, the child pile and the baby pile.
Love this age!!

23/365 Dancing With Grandpa

I've got the Joy, Joy, Joy, Joy down in my heart.
WHERE?
Down in my heart.
WHERE?
Down in my heart
I've got the Joy, Joy, Joy, Joy down in my heart.
WHERE?
Down in my heart to stay!

And I'm so happy, so very happy,
I've got the love of Jesus in my heart. (down in my heart)
And I'm so happy, so very happy,
I've got the love of Jesus in my heart.

Supper
The Wizard of Oz (the whole movie)
Bath and hair wash
Cheerios and blueberries
Dancing and singing with Grandpa - Norah loves "Joy, Joy, Joy"
Teeth and story time followed by bed time negotiations.

Grandpa is currently negotiating. Grandma is hiding and will likely get called in as back up soon. It is sounding pretty noisy up there and it is almost 10pm!!

22/365 Beautiful Miss Norah

No 365 photo today - so since I have been putting together a book of the girls photos taken in 2014, I thought I would pull one from the archives; my beautiful and oh so sweet Miss Norah.

12/376 The Basement

One of the smartest things we have done in this house is replace the basement carpet with glue down vinyl flooring last spring. It is the same industrial grade flooring in Safeway produce section and Montana's restaurant. It looks like wood planks but it is indestructible - even to little girls making cookies.
Another wise move was buying a mini kitchen set and setting up a little girls dream kitchen and play area. Grandpa and I spend a good bit of time with the girls down here. They love it and so do we.

So todays photo is a far cry from yesterdays professional shot but it does captures a moment in time.

11/365 Mom & Dad

I have just spent the last two days putting in 10 hr days doing what I love ~ perfecting beautiful portraits and designing a gorgeous wedding album.

I haven't had any time to pick up my camera today. Since I gave you smoke yesterday I thought today I would share one of my favourite photos from this wedding.

Can you feel the love?

Best on black so go ahead and click on it. :)

5/365 Ice

This is what minus 50 wind chills look like!
Thankful my car started after sitting for 8 hrs at work today not plugged in.
Doubly thankful for heated seats. Somebody should give a Nobel prize to the inventor of heated seats!

4/365 Christmas Sweaters

The girls are here for a sleepover. Yup that is three in three weeks. We miss them that much. Tomorrow morning will be a little tricky getting them home and me off to work but we love having them. And their parents love us having them too. :)

Here they are posing in their Christmas sweaters made by Aunt Heather.

Now I had better go help Grandpa......

2/365 Smoke

I really enjoy working with smoke and flash and am always amazed at the detail and complexities found when it is captured on "film" A split second in the life of a smoke stream.
It is a good thing there is not a smoke detector in my office. It sure smells interesting in here though.

1/365 Kapla Blocks

Yikes! Writing the number one feels so heavy. It feels like I have this gigantic task ahead of me. Wasn't it just yesterday I was writing 365/365? I looked forward to writing that number with great glee. But 24 hrs later I start all over.

Oh well, here we go again.
This may have become an addiction. But I do have to say the "pressure" does keep me photographically focused. I am not sure if that is a good thing or not. Yes, it does help me hone my skills but I worry that too much of my day is focused on photography.

My word for 2015 is balance.

Photography consumes a large part of my day but then so does work with the Health Region. I know I can combine both of these with my goal for more balance.

I am hoping for more time in His Word, His presence and in His work and less time in the worlds work. That is what I mean by balance. I am not sure how that will play out this coming year but I know I can leave that up to Him if I faithfully spend time with Him.

Speaking of balance, I was playing with blocks again.

This building was built using Kapla blocks that were all the same size and shape. The only difference is that some are plain and some are painted red.
