272 of 365 Where Has the Time Gone

Indeed it is flying by and I am having trouble keeping up. Tonight's 365 is the watch on my wrist. Which was well chewed and slobbered on by Eva today.
I gave it a quick polish before the shot. :)

271 of 365 Radishman

My husband loves radishes.
I just like to play with them and take a photo.
Had the 365 done before the table was cleared.

269 of 365 Deck

Well the new deck is done.
Now we start the landscaping... you know the back breaking stuff. This could take a while since we are not spring chickens any more. This is our 57/54 year. One of us was born in 54 and is 57yrs old the other born in 57 and is 54yrs old. And next week we celebrate 32 years of marriage. :)
But enough of that!
Back to the deck.....

268 of 365 Meet Me at the Corner

I have a photo of Eva eating a lemon at lunch today. But since I have a funny lemon face of her a few months ago and I have posted close to, um, 30 photos of her in the past week (between the two blogs) I decided not to post it - cute as it is. Instead I walked up to the corner, lay on my neighbors lawn and captured some fall before it departs for another year.
My neighbor drove up, got out of his car, said hi and went into his house. I think that means my neighbors are now pretty used to seeing me lying on their lawns with my camera....

267 of 365 Eva and Mark

Today we celebrated Eva's first birthday and Uncle Mark came from Winnipeg for a surprise.
The two of them just connect. :)

Just 100 photos to go. The year is flying by!

This is how our back yard looked at 8am this morning and again at 6 pm tonight. And tomorrow it will change again.

264 of 365 Baby Shower

Friends from work gather at our house for a baby shower tonight. I love this first shot - looks like the poor mother is getting plenty of advise. LOL And this is lovely Jessica admiring baby boots.

263 of 365 Diaper Cake

Hosting a baby shower for a co-worker tomorrow night so I made another diaper cake.
They really are a whole lot of fun to make!
Remember my diaper cake from Allison's shower?

So tomorrow will be a busy day with work followed by the shower. I have been fighting a cold for three weeks now so here's hoping work is pretty dull tomorrow.
Then Thursday we are getting our deck ripped off and replaced.
Which means my dear husband and I have a weekend of landscaping our back yard, hauling gravel and dirt, planting and generally working off calories.
Oh and a baby belly shoot Friday.
Never a dull moment around here. :)

Hmm might have to get Mark home to help out.

261 of 365 Hugo

Engagement Photography session today.
Hugo stole the show!

LOL - Seriously though I have a whole bunch of wonderful photos of Kristin and Kyle and when I have time this week I will share them on the regular blog.
But, isn't he just adorable?

258 of 365 Possett

It is French, amazingly creamy, sweet and oh so good.
Made with 35% cream and a lot of sugar.
I got the recipe from the chef at the Ivy.
In discussion with our dinner guests tonight we conservatively estimated it is about 70 calories..... per Tbs. :)

It looks so innocent.

257 of 365 Ice Crystals

Yes we woke to icy, frosted deck furniture this morning.

I am a little concerned because any more frost and we may loose our leaves before they turn to all their glorious fall colours and I have too many fall shoots - including a wedding -  that we are counting on all those colours for!
So, no more ice for about 8 weeks please. It can snow after the 20th of October though. :)

256 of 365 Bravo!

I love my husband dearly......
But he is NOT a photographer.
Tonight I received a Bravo award from the Saskatoon Health Region for my work on the Direct Client Funding pilot project that has been my baby for the past two years. It has been a very successful and rewarding project for all concerned - especially the people we serve.

So it was pretty simple - "when Maura Davies (CEO of SHR) shakes my hand, focus and take the shot - the settings are all ready".
He forgot the focus part. But I still love him. I think it was too much pressure poor guy - and its his birthday tonight. What a boring way to spend your birthday. :) I owe him.
I gave him a crash course on auto focus and we took another shot on the way out.

And I still have to be at work at 8am tomorrow morning.
This is the photo I took of myself for the screen when they announce the awards.

255 of 365 Granola

Colleen brought these yummy and very healthy granola bars to our Community Bible study group tonight. They were mmmmm good.
So was the Word; we studied John 15 which led to many other interesting topics.
It is encouraging to see so many hungry for the Word.
I am thankful.

254 of 365 Ant

These teeny guys move fast and rarely pause, maybe for a nanosecond. Unfortunately my camera requires 2 nanoseconds to focus and another nanosecond for the shutter to release.
So they are difficult to get in focus.
And even harder to get them to look at you!
But interesting to watch.

This photo was at the request of Angie.
Are there any other 365 requests?
You know I love a challenge.
(As if just getting a shot isn't enough of a challenge)
But if there is a household or yard item (since most are taken after supper) that you would  like to see as a 365 photo of the day, do let me know.
It might just fuel me with ideas. :)

249 of 365 The Universe.

Surreal is the theme for this weeks 365 group I belong to.
Who comes up with these ideas is beyond me. And how am I to come up with something surreal in an hour after a long day at work.
Well I looked up surreal - Surreal in general means bizarre or dreamlike.
So I took a photo of the universe  from Earths perspective.  I figure that is as surreal as you get.

Okay it is actually the setting sun reflecting off the sprinklers in my back yard. But it is a universe of it's own and I suspect that the water molecules are subject to many of the same laws as huge planets flying through space. After all our God is a God of order. Every drop of water falls exactly where He plans it to fall as every planet is planned, placed and moves according to His direction. Amen?

I also took this photo tonight while I was thinking about surrealism. In a way it seems pretty surreal that a sea gull and his hundreds of buddies would be swarming around our neighborhood tonight. Someone should tell them this is the prairies. Unless of course, this isn't a seagull and is a tern perhaps? But even they like the ocean don't they?
At any rate I didn't spend too much time worrying about why they were here and not circling the dump instead - although I wondered what animal carcass out there was attracting them. But I do like how the setting sun illuminates him. Those are the things I spend time thinking about.
Because I am a photographer and I am always thinking about light ~ on birds and on water tonight.

248 of 365 Hope

....and you might see more of Hope in the coming weeks, because she loves to pose for the camera. We are thinking we should leave the living room as a photo studio for, say a few months? My better half may change that shortly however. :)

244 of 365 Pearls

An essential along with that little black dress.
Not real btw - $6 from a friend who makes jewelry.
