273/365 Sweetheart

I did a family shoot today and it was way too cold. Since I cannot share those photos, I am posting another adorable one of Isla from her birthday.
It has been a very mixed up month.....

272/365 We are HOME!

We have taken way too many flights in the past 4 weeks but it is always good to come home and extra cool when we fly right over our new house and we can see it from the plane.

266/365 More Sunshine

More Sunshine on another cold wintry day. We got home from the funeral last night and I am a little disorganized so I was more then happy to look after this little one this morning. She has the beginnings of a cold so it is best not to put her in the church nursery and her Mom was on music team and her Dad preaching so the logistics didn't work to take her. We had a fun time together and some cuddles.

264/365 Polar Bear

We had the afternoon on Thursday to spend with Lucy and her Mom and Dad so we headed to the Assiniboine Park Zoo and the Polar Bear Exhibit. Wow! This was certainly worth seeing.
The Polar Bear was much more interested in this little girl then she was in him. I really want all the grands to see the Polar Bears when we travel to Winnipeg next summer for Mom's memorial. It will be a grand reunion and I am sure everyone will enjoy seeing this.

262/365 Lucy

It's been a rough week. We just got home from Victoria after Mom's death and learned that David's brother had passed. So we booked yet another immidiate flight and this time are heading east. A brief stop in Winnipeg before driving to N. Ontario meant a ray of sunshine in an otherwise sad time. This little sweetheart sure lights up our lives.

261/365 Memories

Art is my therapy right now.
This is the home I grew up in, in the Peg. Lived here over 22 years. With Mom (and Dad) now gone it seems we have entered a whole new era. Just memories left.

258/365 Eva and "O"

An hour after getting home from Victoria, the grands came over with their Mom and flowers and Eva handed me this.

"It's a picture of me and "O" " said Eva. "O" is for Oldemor,  Norwegian for great grandmother.

I almost lost it right then and there. Hugged that girl so tight.

256/365 Going Home

It is David's birthday today but it is a travel day so we will celebrate tomorrow. We sit in the Edmonton airport for almost 3 hours waiting for the next leg of the flight home. It is snowing and it has been a very difficult and sad past five days.
We are looking forward to being home.

255/365 Goodbye Mom

At 7:40 this morning Mom left us. We are heartbroken but thankful for the full, loving life she was given. Her memory lives on in the many, many people she loved.
Going for a walk with this family in the forests of Gold Stream was the perfect way to continue on with life and enjoy the gift of marriage, children and grandchildren ~ a gift we need to cherish and fiercely protect. Mom would have insisted on this. Thankful to have David at my side thru this. God is my Rock and my Anchor but David keeps the boat steady.

253/365 Sitting By Her Side

Life throws curve balls and sometimes they come one after another. But God is good and He is providing. The news on Mom is not good. We sit with her and hold her hand. She gives us a small smile and nod to let us know that she knows we are there.

249/365 Eye Lashes

Isla was here for the day and we went for a walk in the swale. I have so many photos of her sisters in the swale I wanted one of her but it was a little too sunny for her.
But I love those long eye lashes.

247/365 Time Marches On

I am not ready for summer to be over. But that cold wind this morning made it abundantly clear that summer is coming to an end.....and so did the first day of school.
Grade 1 and grade 3. How did that happen!!

244/365 Binoculars

We finished putting our binoculars together. This was such a simple craft but they had so much fun.
Just toilet paper rolls, paint, two sided tape and some ribbon.
