181/365 Meatballs

David and I spent most of the day shopping and cooking in preparation for family coming home tonight. We are very excited to hug these grand girls  and spaghetti and meatballs is a favourite on their dinner list.
The fridge and freezer are full and the craft table overflowing.

180/365 Happy Girl

Someone was easy to please this evening. The three girls were over and we spent most of the evening outside - the girls on their new scooters and Isla in her stroller or at the park. She loves the swing.

179/365 Scooters

It was kind of like Christmas around our house this morning. Grandma and Grandpa indulged the girls in a couple of cool scooters that arrived this morning and were put together in no time.
They were pretty tickled pink. The excitement was contagious!
With the other grand girls arriving this weekend and a km of open paved pathway behind our house, I think they will be used quite a bit this summer.
The wheels light up too!

Saw this busy spider preparing supper on my deck and decided this was definitely a macro lens shot. :)  I find this so fascinating.

173/365 I Love Being a Grandma

I seem to enjoy school outings way more as a Grandma then I did as a Mom, but then I am not hauling three other children with me.
The look on Eva's face when she saw I had come to the pool for her school outing was all I needed to make my day!

172/365 Where's Eva??????

It was bedlam!! I am glad I went along to Eva's school outing to the pool. How can you possibly watch all these kids?? I kept my eye on her but "lost" her a couple of times.
And noisy!
They had a blast!

168/365 Stretching

Just Isla and Grandma this afternoon. We had lots of fun and spent some time playing catch - which also happens to be stretching exercises and sitting practice - but for Isla it is just a fun game of catch with Grandma.

167/365 Ashley

This beautiful young lady is heading to Victoria, B.C. for University this fall.
Congratulations Ashley on graduating from grade 12. I wish you all the best in beautiful Victoria. It has been a real blessing to photograph you over the past 8 years and watch you grow into a very talented and beautiful young woman.

165/365 Morden Centennial Rose

Called Pink Hardy, this rose bush is the only one of the three roses planted last fall to survive the winter. I will be on the look out for a couple more to replace the lost ones because this rose is gorgeous and there are quite a few more blooms coming.

164/365 Isla Rose

I got to spend time with my precious Isla Rose this morning. Our little miracle.

163/365 Crafts

I picked this paint/colouring supply turntable with my 50% off coupon at Michaels today. It really cleans up the girls craft table. They love spending time here.
Let's hope it stays relatively organized so all the pens and brushes can be found. :) I bought a new pad of sketching paper too. Our bird house kits arrived  and we will get those done when the cousins arrive in July! And I now have all the ingredients for Mermaid Slime with loads of glitter!
Loving retirement!

161/365 Mouse

Me: Awe, look! Isn't he cute?
David: NO he isn't. He is a dirty rodent.

Yeah, I guess he is. That cardboard house I made for the girls is headed for recycle right now along with some mouse poop. Sorry Girls.

156/365 Dinner Guest

Miss Eva came over after school for strawberry milkshakes and 5 more chapters of Nancy Drew. She didn't want to leave so she joined us for a 2 km walk but on her bicycle and supper on the deck. And a puzzle - we finished a puzzle. It was time for one on one with G&G.

155/365 Rainbow

We had some pretty remarkable skies most of today as several thunderstorms rolled in and then left a rainbow behind.

154/365 Potentilla

First bloom of 2018 on the potentilla I planted last year.
This is the first time in my life I have started a garden from scratch. And it is a big garden.
It is also the fist time I have had to deal with rabbits and deer. I will keep plugging away and hopefully in five years I will have something beautiful. :)

153/365 Sunset

It was a nice one tonight.
I also appreciated that the wind was giving us a bit of a break this evening.

152/365 Jolly!

It was so good to see Isla using her legs, and laughing tonight after 4 days of a low fever and needing a lot of cuddles. I think she is on the mend.
Grandma and Grandpa survived Friday evening babysitting of three busy girls.
