149 of 365 Dryer Balls

Here she is being domestic, a mop in one hand a dryer ball in the other sitting on the dryer helping G&G fold laundry ...sort of.  "Grandma, you are interrupting my work with your camera again"

But of course Eva likes to put everything into her mouth.......except dryer balls.

Ugh!! What was that!

Her mother hasn't seen these yet.
Hope she approves.

144 of 365 Eva and Grandpa

I have trouble thinking of this young husband of mine as a grandpa. But then again I don't think of myself as a grandmother really - I mean I am a grandma but I don't feel, act or look like one - right?

And the runner up.... steamin' sweet corn!

143 of 365 Eva plays the Guitar

Well, she helps grandpa play the guitar.
I am SO in love with her hair!!

Today is the Victoria Day long weekend here in Canada and that means hangin on the deck with a cold one and bbqing- usually. However since it is only 8C here, we turned the furnace on and babysat Eva.

I would also note that although we are seriously trying to downsize at this stage in our lives, we now own a high chair (see photo), stroller and a "pack and play" that are cluttering our near retirement home. Along with a supply of baby cookies, bag of blocks, a few toys and books and a bag of diapers.
What happened!!

142 of 365 garden

Not much opportunity/time to be out and about finding something to shoot and not feelig up to something creative with the flash - perhaps tomorrow. But I wanderes about the garden which always brings something and the sound of grass being cut and something being bbq'ed is always welcome.
I took a shot of a good portion of these flowers in the garden only to notice when uploaded that this little guy was on one of the flowers. So I cropped it in about 300%. :)

This is the shot before the crop. The crop is just a smidgen higher then dead center. Oh how I love the clarity in my 70-200mm

141 of 365 Blossoms

Oh isn't is just so wonderful outside right now?  I am so thankful for spring and all it beauty. I was able to get my herbs planted today ......and then spent 10 hours on the computer. I have almost finished my first flush mount wedding album in Photoshop CS5. Now to learn how to upload all those huge files to the publisher.
Today's 365 photo came from Linda's garden - blossoms - but not sure what the berry is. They are sure pretty.I am in awe of His handiwork.
And while I was out there I noticed that the Lily of the Valley in my own garden are very abundant this year. In a week or so I will be able to pick a beautiful fragrant bouquet. In the meantime look how lush they are.

139 of 365 Yellow Tulip

The only one that made it this year. Used to be I would have close to 100 tulips every spring but these crazy cold winters and early frosts have changed that.

136 of 365 Ken's Birthday

The Bile Study gang shared a meal tonight and celebrated Ken's Birthday.
It's no secret how old Ken is.
That is a pina colada sorbet in a coconut shell courtesy of Heather.  mmmmm

We also pulled out the hymnals and enjoyed some wonderful, heart stirring, solid, gospel filled hymns that have stood the test of time. A little John Chapter 13 and some Francis Chan - it was a great time.

135 of 365 Sunday Morning Beginnings.

A wonderful way to start the day before heading to church with my sweetheart...

He is having the mocha and I am having the ever so healthy African Fog.
And no one noticed (I think) that I was dragging a Canon 5D mkII and 16-35mm lens as well as the 50mm prime around with me thanks to my nifty and very stylish  photojojo camera bag.

133 of 365 Grandpa's Buffet

We call it grandpa's buffet because it was my grandfathers - which makes is quite old. Grandpa had this buffet up at Norway House Manitoba where the floors were often crooked - or maybe it was at Pine Falls Manitoba. Wherever it was, the story goes that in order for it to sit straight on the crooked floors of the old house or the grocery store and restaurant he owned, he had to trim the legs on one side.
When my Mom inherited the piece, it had to be trimmed down to sit flat again. Now I have it. The doors tend to not stay closed, it could use refinishing and it really doesn't hold much. It may get moved to the upstairs hallway and just hold towels. But for the 31 years of our marriage, it has been my buffet and held  a few treasures. And it is a little bit of my wonderful Grandpa.

128 of 365 S Saskatchewan River

Happy Mothers Day to all the mothers! Hope you had a wonderful day.
I took this photo as we drove home from a mother's day lunch. A little chilly out today, especially in the wind,  but the sun is shining and summer is coming.

127 of 365 Eva and Robins

This is Eva before her parents left for a movie.
Eva is wearing an outfit her mother wore at this age.  And this is Allison (Eva's Mom) at the same age but not in that outfit.
How do they grow up so fast and have babies of there own!

After Eva's parents left she cried. She has discovered that Grandma and Grandpa are not Mom and Dad. We paced, we distracted, we went for walks outside, she cried and finally in exhaustion she fell asleep. She sleeps in David's arms as I quietly type. shhhhhhhhhhh

She has also been in a strange house all week for the past two weeks as Dad studies out of town - so life is a tad messed up for her right now.

Also took this today....

126 of 365 Something Schmoo and Nursery Rhymes

It was a momentary indulgence and it was delectable - Prairie Ink. I never order dessert so I don't know what possessed me today.

And I also took this photo while wandering around River Landing. Which might be why I ordered the above.
Victoria bridge is falling down, falling down, falling down.

121 of 365 Zipped

I cleaned the front hall closet out yesterday. Today I photographed one of the three Cowichin sweaters my mom knit for us some time ago. They are beautiful sweaters and very warm but also very heavy. They remain in the closet. I am hoping one of the kids will want one of them.

BTW if you are having trouble uploading photos to Blogger try switching to Safari from Firefox. Blogger and Firefox continually cause me grief!! This may only be an issue on a MAC.
