 27/365 Studio

This is my photos studio. I have a family photo shoot today. Sometimes I share my studio with our cars. It is wonderfully warm with in floor heat and the cars are a tad spoiled. But this also means David and I spent 2 hours scrubbing the floors this morning. It is pristine inside my studio right now and it smells very clean!

 24/365 Cookies

Here you have 60 gingersnaps ready for the oven. We had a crowd here on Sunday and they were all gone by the time the last person left. We don't need any temptations hanging around the house.

 17/365 Snow Drift

There is quite the snow drift on the back deck. I suppose I should get out there and shovel it off but it's pretty and I am hoping it melts next week.

 15/365 Refrigerator Pantry Soup

It started with a recipe for Keto Chicken Cauliflower Rice Soup, but I had some frozen Kale that I wanted to add, some frozen carrot (the fibre leftover from juicing) some great turkey broth in the freezer to add, and an abundance of lentils in the pantry that I needed to start using up; therefore it is no longer Keto.  I also added a few extra spices because the recipe was lacking and tossed my Dukah mixture on top. And that's how I role in the kitchen.

Because it is freezing out there and this comfort food was calling out to me.....and I haven't made an apple pie in over 10 years!

 13/365 Snake Plant

Dracaena trifasciata native to tropical West Africa is most commonly known as the snake plant, Saint George's sword, mother-in-law's tongue, and viper's bowstring hemp. I picked this one up at Costco 2 years ago when it was about a foot tall. It is now reaching 5 feet and bloomed last summer when I placed it near the hot tub - a covered area with only indirect light but lots of it. It has grown from 3-4 stocks to15-20? So easy to look after.

 11/365 Money Plant

The Chinese money plant, also known as the missionary plant, lefse plant, pancake plant, UFO plant, or just pilea (short for its scientific name of Pilea peperomioides) is originally from the southwestern Yunnan province of China. This one however originated with my next door neighbour. So far it has not produced any money.....

 7/365 Strength

It is true what they say - it is hard to maintain muscle as you age, especially post menopausal. You loose it way faster than you gain it.  I am working hard to stay strong. There are too many things I want to do in life.

Technically I didn't take this photo. I set it up for my husband and used an iPhone so I am not sure it qualifies as a 365 photo but it is all I have tonight.

 5/365 Hope

Day five of this years 365 and I am already finding myself forgetting until last minute to create a photo and having zero ideas or creativity. Hang in there the mojo will return...hopefully soon.

 4/365 On Tap

Just a late night (got to get to bed) 365 photo of what's on the counter top tonight. The lineup of flavoured olive oils, some jalapeño pickled yellow beans from Mark that we should open soon and some fruits and veggies. Its all good...

 3/365 Rest

Christmas is a busy time and it starts when the decorations go up in early December. It's a wonderful time but such a busy time and so on January 1 when we take everything down, give the house a thorough cleaning and return to "normal" it feels so very restful again. Things just slow down in early January and we do enjoy that.

 2/365 Blanket

I am not a great sleeper and sometimes I just get up, make a cup of tea, turn the fireplace on and read for an hour or so.... But what I love here the most (besides what I am reading)  is this incredibly thick, soft blanket made and given to me by my friend Dawn. It is so warm and cosy and I love it.

 January 1, 2024  Cribbage 1 of 365

I am resurrecting the 365. I find there might be weeks when I do not pick up my camera. I miss it. And I miss the challenge of finding something different and interesting and challenging to photograph every day. So here goes. There will be a lot less cute grandchildren since they have moved away....sigh.... another reason to resurrect the 365 ~ I have more time now. So expect some odd, mundane items.... less cuteness factor.

To start off the year - Cribbage. Because on occasion when we sit down together to enjoy breakfast as an old retired couple, we play cribbage.
