181 of 365 Firefighter

Mark has finished his grueling orientation in humid heat this past week and has met the muster. His first shift with the Winnipeg Firefighters is this Sunday.

He has found temporary accommodation but I am praying he finds something permanent soon and gets all his stuff  (bed) down from Thompson. He says he hasn't slept on a proper mattress all week....and has been climbing ladders in the heat all week. Poor guy.

Actually took this in the bright sunlight in the back yard.
Harold comes up with the most interesting objects when I am plum out of ideas.

178 of 365 grapes

On the coffee table, during Bible study with setting sun on them.

One of those days where there was just not time to compose the shot. Grabbed my Bible and my camera and waited for an opportunity. ...at about John 16:15

Moments of pure joy.
Having fun between the bursts of pouring rain today.

176 of 365 South Circle Bridge

Not sure what they plan to call this bridge.
David and I walked the 1.5 km south of Saskatoon to see how they were doing with the new bridge. Roads were closed and had to park the car. We were surprised to see they already had one section of the supports up. I always wondered how they built a bridge with the water in the way - seems they just filled in so they could get out to where they needed to. But how do you haul all that earth away to let the waters run again?

Beautiful day. Hope we get this weather tomorrow - family shoot.

174 of 365 Baby Belly

This is my friend from work and her soon to be born baby. I took this at the staff BBQ tonight.
I think the pregnant belly is very beautiful.
My friend doesn't. :)
Trying to convince her to let me get some very emotive shots of her belly.

170 of 365 My Dad

I have taken a photo today but it is Father's Day and I decided for the first time in 170 days I will post a photo that I did not take today.
This is the first Father's Day in 54 years I do not have a father. Dad died April 14th this year and I am missing him today. So I will post a photo I took of him with Eva during our last visit with him this past February.

169 of 365 Poached

A favorite breakfast spot of ours is called Poached.
Today I ordered the asparagus and mushroom on a biscuit with a side spinach salad.
A great way to start a lazy, cold and rainy Saturday

168 of 365 Rain

It poured rain here tonight - I mean really poured. There will be some people dealing with flooded basments tonight and thankfully we are not one of them but we have done our share. Windy too - all those dead leaves and brances have been pruned from the tree.

165 of 365 Little White Blooms

David and I bought some greenery for the front garden to replace the big overgrown cedars we had pulled out last year. Tonight I discovered, to my surprise, that it has very tiny white flowers.
Yeah 100mm macro 2.8 lens and a little Photoshop.

And did you notice?
Only 200 more photos to go.

164 of 365 Lilac

Bible Study tonight so I didn't have time for the 365 until almost 9:45 pm, which means very little light which means high ISO which means not worthy of enlarging.
I am too tired to get the flash and try again. A 5 min shot - take it, crop it, upload it.

The back yard smells incredible!
I would love to cut a big bouquet and put it in my office.... but we are a scent free zone at work. Not sure that would go over too well.  Even when I am the only one in there. :(

163 of 365 Prairies

We were in Alberta this weekend for a family wedding.
Road trip photo on the way home today.
I have the sweetest husband in the whole world. He stopped the car and waited patiently for me to take some shots and get eaten by a few hundred mosquitoes.

162 of 365 Wedding

We were at a wedding in Alberta this weekend and I was NOT the official photographer. The last three weddings I have been at I was VERY busy for 12 hours but this night I just enjoyed being a guest... and wished I was the official photographer because the venue was incredible!
How's that for a dance floor!
The lights say D&E Dienera and Evan.

161 of 365 White Flower

I think it is called a snow drop.
Another evening of waiting for the birds to come out of the trees so I could see and photograph them. But no, they just taunted me with their songs. "We are here but you cannot see us."
So another photo of a white flower.

158 of 365 The Vase

This is what you get when I have 300 photos that need editing, worked all day (the other job) and slept little last night.
I call it the 5 minute shot. Shoot the first thing you see, crop it and upload it.

157 of 365 Canon Baby

It has been settled. Eva is a Canon girl. There will be no more discussion.

Next week we will discuss Mac's and that other OS that crashes and gets viruses.

156 of 365 Graduation

Brittany is graduating and will start nursing in the fall. Today I really had a wonderful time capturing some moments with this very beautiful young woman.

I had so much fun that as I packed the gear into the car after the shoot  I thought maybe grads (seniors) photo will be my niche. :) But I love babies and brides too... hmmm and I especially love wrinkled people, and I kind of liked how the photos of the bikers turned out.

154 of 365 KOKUM

Kokum is Cree for grandmother.
She doesn't speak English but her eyes are loving and welcoming and speak volumes to me. She is surrounded by family who love her.

152 of 365 - The Door WILL be opened

carrying on with the door theme this week.....

"For everyone who asks receives; He who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened." Luke 11:10
but you have to ask Him, seek Him and knock at His door.
So many rely on themselves and never ask.  So the door remains closed. If He has opened the door for you, rejoice!
