51/365 Garlic

"Garlic used as it should be used is the soul, the divine essence, of cookery. The cook who can employ it successfully will be found to possess the delicacy of perception, the accuracy of judgment, and the dexterity of hand which go to the formation of a great artist." - Mrs. W. G. Waters
Garlic deserves to be in the spotlight because every great meal starts here... almost.

For my brother who is lying on a beach in Mexico right now.

Worth clicking on the photo to view large.

48/365 Mango Fish

One of my favourite ways to eat mango is as a chutney
with pineapple
and onions
over fresh caught Mahi Mahi
on the lanai
overlooking the ocean
near sunset
with a "white lady"
in a little dress
with a tan
and my sweetheart!

It just tastes so much better that way.

Doesn't it dear......

47/365 Moments

These are the moments that fill us with great joy; reading, and saying our night time prayers with our grand daughter.

btw - she is sleeping in the same bed her mom slept in and her mom picked out those flannel sheets - it seems like yesterday, but I suppose it was a lot longer ago then that.

46/365 Bread

David and I have been 'fasting' from all grains - bread, cereals etc for the past month.
But that is over now.
I bought this today.... and I ate a chunk of it in the car on the way home.
Never shop hungry.

They were here for a sleepover on Valentines.

43/365 Blueberry

They love frozen blueberries. They know where to find them in my freezer too.

No, you cannot have my camera. :)

I have had requests for 365 photos of avocado, pineapple, cherry and lime.
I need to do some grocery shopping but full time work and more is getting in the way.

41/365 Blackberry

I will carry on with the fruit theme as it works well for me because quite frankly, my work life and evening commitments are not allowing a whole lot of creativity or time of late.

I love these little guys! They were "on sale" this past week for $2.50 a basket. That turned out to be about 8 cents each!

39/365 Pear

That's what it is.
I do not have a whole lot of creativity in me tonight.

Particularly nice viewed large - click on the photo.

38/365 Winter! UGH!!!

I am really tired of the dark morning, minus twenty something, gas fumed filled, bumper to bumper commute every morning.
I am tired of winter.
Dirty white

On the other hand I don't take the bus.
I have remote start and heated seats.
And since a good part of my work days involves several car rides about the city, I am thankful for these blessings.

It is Friday.... I needed to go looking for something remotely tropical to photograph after work tonight because there was no way I was going to sit outside for 30 minutes trying to get another frozen bubble!!

I found it in the bathroom.

#34 of 365 Sunset Bubbles

Getting there.
Changed the formula a little - but more importantly there was no wind at all today and the sun was setting beautifully. I would say that perhaps it could have been a little colder, but my fingers said it was plenty cold enough.

My goal is to have a bubble thicker so when it freezes it breaks up rather than shatters but until then I am liking these winter bubbles.

My camera is in need of a good cleaning.... bubble residue making buttons stick. :(

#32 of 365 Lincoln Logs

One month done and eleven to go. :)

Do any of you remember Lincoln Logs?

Okay you have to be over 40 to know what I am talking about.
I spotted them in a toy store just before Christmas and wonderful childhood memories came flooding back.

So I bought them.

And I play with them.....

Because I can.
