Most of them - ran out of steam this year and asked my neighbour to make the last three for the families new additions. Then I put their names on them - last night - 2 minutes before I took this photo. I told everyone no marriages or births for two years please.
Did you build the mantle just to hang stockings? I've always wanted a mantle for that very reason. That picture makes me miss my big ol' family. Three stockings look kind of lonely on the wall, so we supplement with the pets' stockings! Great job, Julie!
I don't know what kind of stitch it is but yes I sewed/embroidered the names on them. All except Harold and Mark's - they were gifts from a neighbour 25 years ago. I added all the other stockings over the years.
