243/365 Two Thousand Feet Down!

Taking the elevator "2000 feet" down to the Discovery Mine so we could operate a rotor borer machine, change the tires and the batteries on the machine and do all sorts of geology stuff. Loving the Wonderhub with Grandpa. Check out our tool belts, vests and safety glasses.

This was taken a few weeks back but I didn't pick  up the camera today and this needs to be in the archive.
Eva is working on her one handed cartwheels!

240/365 Celebrations

We have a couple of milestones coming up next month, so we decided to "invest" in some recreational additions to the basement to mark the occasions.
I am enjoying taking cool photos as much as I am enjoying learning how to use it. :)

239/365 Flower Crab Spider

At first I thought maybe we had found an albino spider but she is a flower crab spider and if she were on my yellow daisies instead of my roses, she would likely be yellow. Apparently they can change to yellow. Very tiny. She doesn't make a web, just sits and waits for bugs to come by and eats them, which is perfectly fine by me. She is welcome to stay.

238/365 Good Friends

About every 2-3 months we get together with very good friends for supper and a visit and the evening always starts with a White Lady martini.....made by David. We have been doing this for probably 6 years and I hope it continues for another twenty.
Here is tonights martini....almost gone.

235/365 Creative Play

The Dress-up Buckets and the canned music on the electric piano provided a couple hours of crazy but creative play for the girls. Even Isla got in on the act.

234/365 Mule Deer

Look what surprised us on our swale walk yesterday. I had my 100 mm macro on the camera since I was going for vegetation so not the best photo of this mule deer.

233/365 More Museum Fun!

We have a year pass so we are taking advantage of it before the older girls are back at school. It was another fun day at Wonderhub! What a great place.

This is Eva's face coming thru. Isla was having quite a good time with this.

229/365 Twister

A five year old, three 7 year olds and an 8 year old are having fun in the back yard Thursday evening. It was quite hilarious actually. Glad I made cookies that afternoon. I am loving that the girls are making friends with some of the neighbourhood kids. :) This was Thursday
My husband nixed the idea that we get a play structure.

227/365 Wonderhub

Over three hours at the Wonderhub (children museum) today. A great way to get my reading done although it was interrupted regularly by "Grandma, watch this! " They spent over an hour down in the mine discovering all sorts of things.
So glad the kids got a yearly pass. I think it will be worth it. There was still more they wanted to do after 3 hours.

226/365 Gymnastics

More time at gymnastics but this time I didn't have a tired 2 yr old on my lap, just a camera and 70-200 f2,4 lens (about 3 pounds)

225/365 Black & White

Getting a good, captivating B&W is not as easy as it looks. But I am working on it.

224/365 And then there was a garden.

I am amazed at what we have accomplished in just under 3 years. It seems like only yesterday we bought the lot. So very blessed and thankful.

221/365 Grand Grandpa!

Poor Grandpa - the girls each wanted a piggyback ride but they are getting too big and Grandpa to old for this!!
I do believe this might just be their last piggyback ride from Grandpa.
