While waiting in the car for Mom and Isla at an appointment, the girls asked if I could open the
 sun roof on the car.....They were enjoying those balmy --18C temps out there and all that beautiful sunshine! It was a bit windy though.

Lots of excitement around here. we are card and board game junkies and Uncle Harold just bought a new game called "Dixit". A little bit of strategy, a little bit of imagination, some creative thinking and a lot of fun for ages 6 and up!

When winter drags on and there is a 4 foot drift of snow between you and the BBQ, and you are tired of casseroles and soups, you fry up home made hamburgers on the stove for supper and wonder if summer will ever come. It has been a long winter.

Two new shelves in my office and a few desktop organizers have purtied up my office. All these regularly needed items are nicely tucked away and yet very accessible. Thank you Wayfair.com - that was so easy. Nine days from the click of a mouse to in place and useful.  And thank you Harold for spending an hour and a half putting them together for me.

My orchid is completely open and booming in all its glory with nine blooms. It is on my desk where I can enjoy it. It is a reminder that these bitter temperatures will not last forever and spring will come. Before I know it the roses will be blooming outside my office window....if they survived the minus 40C temps this week.

They have been here since Thursday and had zero screen time - no TV, no iPad, no Mario Brothers stuff......mostly because we have been so busy with other more fun stuff. But this afternoon Grandma allowed them an hour.
It was amazingly quiet around here. I understand how parents give into all these devices.
