272 of 365 Cheers
Sometimes you want to go
Where everybody knows your name,
and they're always glad you came.
You wanna be where you can see,
our troubles are all the same
You wanna be where everybody knows
Your name.
Missed Norm.
I have a bunch of photos from Boston today. It was cold and rainy and my camera got very wet, but we had a grand time and ended the day at Cheers for a beer and fish n chips.

Looking forward to hitting the streets of downtown Boston first thing tomorrow morning.

267 of 365 Sunset
...less then 100 to go and then I am changing this 365 thing up.
Tonight the plan was a photo of all the beautiful fall colours out there. But time got away on me and the sun started setting. By the time I headed out the front door there wasn't much light at all so I lay down on the grass and had a little cry (jk) and while I was down there I noticed a whole new perspective on sunsets.
Then I turned around to head back in and noticed that the lamp in our front hallway was very inviting. I like that. :)
So you get two tonight :)

266 of 365 Hide N Seek
Miss Eva was playing hide and seek at her birthday party today; fun in the backyard with friends. A lot of sugar, a lot of attention, too many presents to unwrap... I am betting she slept all the way home in the car.

264 of 365 Reading by the Light
It has been one of those crazy days. I have spent most of it in my office cleaning up the shelves so i can move lenses and 'stuff' off my desk that has been hidden for months. It has also been a day of leaving behind all creativity and getting the yucky part of the photography business under control. I spent about 7 hours today on a spreadsheet figuring out my CDB. It was a very busy summer. I am still finishing up with a few clients (well 7 actually) getting orders printed and photos ready. But it was time to start entering all those expenses and see what the bottom lines is. It is the part that creatives hate to touch but if we are to survive in the creative art of this photography business, then touch it, embrace it, we must. The numbers look pretty healthy though. :) And it really feels good to see on paper what and where all my expenses are. So, due to lack of time and a creative mind that has been shut down today, the 365 ended up being a shot of my accountant reading by the light.

261 of 365 Miss Eva
Miss Eva is going to be 2 on Friday. She is growing up before our eyes and really turning into a lovely little girl... well sort of. We did experience a bit of a temper tantrum at church the past week - which is quite unusual for her. It must be the Independent twos coming on. She has also finally discovered books. Her mama loved books from the day she was born. So I am glad to see Eva starting to enjoy books too. I think it has a lot to do with all the multimedia surrounding us these days.

Miss Eva helped me make some cream cheese icing for grandpa's cup cakes today.... sort of.
Then our neighbours came over and Linda brought a very yummy dessert.

257 of 365 Happy Birthday
The man of my dreams had a birthday today. He spent the day in meetings - didn't eat lunch and then got in the car at 6 pm to drive 3 1/2 hours home to see me.
I love this man!
I love this man!
He looks as good to me today as he did on our wedding day 33 years ago!
Other then seeing me tonight, I think the highlight of his day was his 3 yr old grand daughter calling him from BC and singing happy birthday to him. He paused a meeting to listen to that! :)
We are blessed.

253 of 365 Banjo Bowl
Yup, there they are; Mark and Dave are in the stands watching the Banjo Bowl.
Can you see them?
No, neither can I.
But they are there, sort of. They happen to be on the other side.... but I couldn't see the other side.

251 of 365 Manitoba Legislative Building
We drove by the Manitoba Legislative building on our way home from a very relaxing supper with my brother John and sister-in-law Mary. I had to stop and get a photo from the car. This is a very impressive building built in 1913 to 1919 with the desire that it would be built “not for present delight nor use alone...
but such as our descendants will thank us for.”
Thank you!
There on top is the "Golden Boy" facing north.
Brass actually but gilded in 23.5 C gold, carries the torch in one hand and a sheaf of wheat in the other. He is 17 feet tall and weigh about 5 tons.
How do I know all this you ask?
Well I was a tour guide of the Legislative buildings three summers in a row during high school and my first years of university. That was a loong time ago - one degree, one husband, 4 kids and 4 grandchildren ago actually.
A great summer job!
Bet ya didn't know that about me. :)
But I am also sharing my still life photo I took moments before leaving John and Mary's house thinking I needed my 365. I am loving this one! Just couldn't decide tonight.

250 of 365 Winnipeg Skies
It is a pretty lame shot but I did not venture far with the camera today. So another shot from the hotel. There is a west Jet flight coming in for landing at the Wpg airport in the bottom left corner.
Will try for something a little more interesting tomorrow.

We are in Wpg and our hotel room just happens to overlook the Winnipeg Blue Bombers stadium. Looks like they are practicing up for the big game against the Saskatchewan Rough Riders on Sunday.

On the road again. Just realized only moments ago that I didn't have a 365 for the day so here is the prairie sunset from our condo balcony.

246 of 365 Wacom
I am spending a lot of time with this pen in my hands. And putting it on my new Wacom Intuoso5 tablet. Currently processing 11 clients photos in various stages of getting photos edited, up on the web site, photos printed, slideshows made and end products delivered. I finally bought a whiteboard for the office wall so I can keep track of where I am at with each one of my wonderful clients. It has been a very busy summer!
Anyone have any suggestions about where to get a good chair - a really good chair with lots of adjustments for this old gal with progressive lenses, bad posture and tennis (aka camera) elbow?

245 of 365 Saskatoon Family Photography
This is Dillon. She just turned one and she is taking her Mom and Dad for a walk. Sweetest little girl... I had to resist kissing her. I photographed Dillon almost one year to the date. Aren't I blessed to get to see these little ones grow up.
