300/365 Wheel

And now for something completely different.... and not in my back yard, or green or sky related.

Saw this today and decided it was one cool wheel!

299/365 Butterfly

Two Hundred and Ninety Nine.
Yes that is how many days in a row that I have taken and posted a photo.
I am thankful for warm weather and backyards full of interesting things because I have taken a photo of every possible object in my house over this long cold winter past and I now have a whole new array of subjecst in my back yard.

....even things with battered up wings.

297/365 Honda

I didn't think I did car photography but my husbad is selling his Honda on Kijiji so now I do car photography. Let me know if you have a car near and dear to you and I will photograph it.
The neighbors I am sure think I am odd. You know, lights on tripods set up on driveway, me lying  on the driveway, long lens.... for a 1999 Honda. But it is a sweet car and someone is going to enjoy it.
Only 117000 km.
Interested?

296/365 Country Road

I was heading home from work today and happened to have my DSLR with me (used it at work today). I saw these wonderful clouds and blue sky, but alas I also saw telephone and light poles, numerous signs, cars and stuff in the way.
So I kept driving right on out of the city until I saw this.

Started heading back into the city and it was then that I realized my gas light was on. That was a tad distracting given I was out in the country.
But I made it back and managed to get that thirsty tank filled.
I love the rich greens and browns in the country.
I think there must be a little country in this here city girl.

295/365 The Heavens

The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork Day to day pours out speech, and night to night reveals knowledge.

There is no speech or language
where their voice is not heard.
Their voice goes out into all the earth,
their words to the ends of the world.  Psalm 91

Did you hear His voice tonight?

294/365 Hosta

Love my hostas. Wish I new more about them and all the varieties, but gardening is not my forte - I will stick with just photographing them. :)
And it was about a 10 sec photo shoot with this hosta tonight because it took the mosquitoes 3 seconds to find me and attack!

291/365 Marigold

There are some days this 365 challange is really quite a chore. Not very often, but some days. And today was one of those days. Just really lacking much motivation these days. Missing the gym a lot too. But this too shall pass. Hopefully soon...
So here is today's minimal effort.
I haven't planted marigolds in my garden for, oh, maybe 10 years. But the bright yellow felt really cheery and so I bought some and planted them yesterday. And I am enjoying them despite my lack of motivation.
Looking forward to watching them grow and flourish and fill the yard with more yellow. It felt good to spend the afternoon in the garden yesterday. There were plenty of weeds that had flourished thanks to a month of rain. And several plants needed moving as they were taking over where they shouldn't have been. But I put them in their place!

284/365 Oreo ice cream bar

Just noting that I have now had 10,006 visitors since last September. Wow - that's a lot of lurkers. ;)

Ken brought dessert tonight.
And I enjoyed all 250 calories of it!

Summer is here. What's your favorite summer treat?

283/365 Canadian Snowbirds

We stood at the end of the long breakwater at Ogden Point, out over the water, and watched the snowbirds perform. What a show! Gave my new 70-200 lens a good workout and it surpassed my expectations. Also caught a great shot of an CF18 - at least I think that's what everyone said it was. All I know is it almost knocked me off the pier when it flew past and the sound was deafening.

It was a beautiful day and it was glorious to see the sun all day!!
It was especially nice to spend it with family we haven't seen in over 3 years.

280/365 Old Brick

Victoria is one of the older cities in Canada and down at the waterfront the buildings have lots of history and stories to tell.  I am loving all the old brick.

279/365 Decaf Latte

I am extremely sensitive to caffeine.
Yet I LOVE the smell and flavour of coffee. So about once every two weeks I indulge in a decaf latte.  That is about all the caffeine I can manage these days.
Otherwise I have an African Fog - steamed skim milk and rooibus tea - very healthy and the best I can do  to satisfy the morning craving for something warm and rich.

This morning was one of those mornings. I indulged in a decaf latte.

IT WAS WONDERFUL!

Sweetheart took the photos....after about six shots and me setting the camera.
He is soooo patient.

275/365 OOPS!

Saw this on the way to work this am. I guess someone wasn't paying attention last night. Took out a fence and a tree. Hopefully no one was hurt.

273/365 The RING!!!

My friend and co-worker is getting married! And, well that is just so very exciting. Especially because they are a wonderful couple just meant for each other.
And isn't that ring a beauty?
It is also exciting that I get to photograph their wedding and I was able to photograph their engagement photos several of which are up on the web site.

272/365 summer?

THIS is what summer is about - well this and beaches and the lake and a whole lot of other stuff.
But isn't it wonderful that the rain stopped?
We are taking advantage of it - came home from work and sweetheart had salmon ready to go on the BBQ. What a nice place to spend the evening with family and friends.
