56/365 Pear Crumble

I should have taken a photo of Greg falling asleep at Bible study tonight (way more amusing) however since I have done the same and would not appreciate it, I opted for a photo of the delicious pear crumble and fake ice cream courtesy of Ken. LOL it was frozen vanilla yogurt and we all agreed it was fabulous. I also included in the shot, our unique tea pot. Dear husband broke the lid last week...on this tea pot I have had since we were married... however I will get a new one at the dollar store and plant some herbs in this one. Until then, a bowl will suffice.

53/365 Sunrise

Woke up to these skies this morning. The sun coming up over Mt Baker and Whiterock.
His creation continues to amaze and inspire me.

51/365 Lush Forests

Love the ocean air and walks in the rich forest growth of B.C.
And huge maple trees... especially in the fall.

50/365 Westjet.com

I'm leaving on a jet plane
Don't know when I'll be back again.
(you may be too young to remember this tune)
Oh Babe I can't wait to go.......(my rendition)

..actually I have to be back for a meeting 8:30 am Tuesday at SCH...so it is a very short getaway.
Do you think West jet would like this photo?

49/365 Locked!

Call it creative..
Call it cool...
Call it desperation ....
.....after a long day at work, rushing home, throwing a load of laundry on (hint), heating the soup for supper.... and remembering that daily shot! When all I want to do is go to bed!

Yes here it it. Shot # 49 and I haven't missed a day yet! yeah me!
But some days are a real challenge with leaving for work in the dark and coming home in the dark. I don't like hauling my camera bag around with me during the day especially if I have a meeting out of the office. And I know I have likely overdone the photos taken from the drivers seat of my car.
Soooo do you know what it is????

48/365 Desktop.

I changed my desktop photo... needed something fallish and I like this photo I took a few weeks back. So I took a picture of my desktop for you tonight.  hehehehe

If you are a MAC you now know all my programs. :) I don't use garage band... but don't have the heart to take it off the dock. Maybe one day I might want to learn to play the guitar??

I also changed my 365 layout (could ya tell?) so I can have larger photos. But I am not sure I like it yet. Kind of.... big. Not neat and trimmed like before.

What do you think?

I am thinking it stays because I really do not want to go back into all my posts and change the photo size back to medium.

47/365 Tamarack

The tamarack is a beautiful tree and especially in the fall. I wanted to capture it for today's 365 as soon as I got home from work because the sun rises on my way to work and sets on the way home such is this time of year.... sigh!
I used a wee bit of flash fill under the tree because the sun was giving light to the top and not the bottom. It was getting dark!
I had to work fast on this one.
But sunset colours are always so warm and relaxing. Or maybe it is just that I am home from work and the turkey soup is on the stove. Or maybe both. :)

And then what did I hear?
A gaggle of geese!!

How accommodating of them. They have been flying overhead for several weeks now and this is the first time I caught them as I wanted.

oops! That's two photos again. Sometimes it is too hard to just pick one!

45/365 Last days of fall

The last days of fall are here and today was a beautiful warmish, sunny break from the past few weeks....so we headed out for what was likely our last bike ride.
Can you see the duck in the first photo?
Been out walking along the river lately? It is beautiful.
And the female runners outnumber the male 15:1

44/365 Darth Vader

We ate so much fish and chips last night that we deferred the birthday cake until tonight.... the cake with the cool Darth Vader candle.
I know it is three shots but you need to see the evolution of Darth.... his face stated to melt and I thought  it was way cool.

43/365 Harold

We celebrated number one son's birthday tonight. Fish and chips.... and this wasn't just any fish, it was pickeral (or walleye as number two son would insist) in cornflake crumbs.
Here is number one son opening his gifts.

42/365 The Word and some tea...

Love my job but oh some days are very challenging and tiring. However my sweetheart had a wonderful meatloaf dinner waiting for me as I came in the door - with 10 minutes to spare before the saints arrived for some "open up your Bible and check it out" time. And some tea. So two shots tonight taken from the couch as everyone chatted and I yawned. I like them both. Used my prime macro 50 mm lens. I think people are just used to seeing me with a camera pressed up against my face.

A little tea
A little Joshua
A little Hebrews

Perfect end to a long day.
I am off to bed.

41/365 roses

It has been a week and still my 30 long stem roses from my sweetheart look incredibly beautiful - every single one of them.
Best anniversary gift I have ever received from him. :)
More photos from yesterdays engagement shoot are posted on my blog.

40/365 Pure joy!

Didn't have trouble finding a photo for today - took over 400 of them in two photo shoots. But this one I particularly like because they are both in the air! And having a blast. So was I.

35/365burrrr

Do you know what this is a picture of? Okay, my windshield wiper, but just below it. Look closely.

Ya, there it is... those little white specs there..... SNOW! It started on the way home from a long day of work where I came to the realization that I just can't do it all!! So sure, bring on the snow the first week of October. Thirty years ago yesterday I was getting married on a warm, sunny fall day... and today it is snowing. Where is this global warming?

Despite my weariness, I sucked it up and still got this photo posted tonight, just for you. But it was close I tell ya, real close.  No one will ever call me a quitter!!

This too shall pass.

34/365 tusQ

Celebrated out 30th wedding anniversary at a new restaurant in town, tusQ. Food was excellent, service was deplorable. Coffee creamer was served in this cute little teapot.
Not a great photo. It was romantically dark in there and I don't use my flash in restaurants. ISO was 1000 and shutter about 1/2 second.

33/365 night light

One of those nights when I am dead tired after a long day and I almost forgot to take a picture. (I have taken over 500 photos this weekend) but I needed one TODAY.

...my husband is always so accommodating.

Loved this one of Kenzie!
Isn't she pretty?
A natural in front of the camera.

31/365 Terriers

I made it through the first month of the challenge! Just eleven more to go. With over 1300 hits in the past 31 days... well I am encouraged to keep on..so many visitors. THANK YOU!! and of few of you even leave comments. :)

Did a photo shoot with three Scottish Terriers today. They were really well behaved although it was often a challenge to get all three (and their 'Mom') looking at the camera at the same second. A bigger challenge was the 50 other dogs on this off leash area that wanted to be in the photo op too!

I have never photographed dogs, so this was a fun challenge. See my blog for more photos. There are some pretty funny shots of these three guys.

Family Photography shoot tomorrow if it doesn't rain.

30/365 Garlic

I know.... it's food and it's a macro but it has been a long busy week.
I shot it with my prime macro 52mm 2.0 lens with off camera flash. The flash is suspended from the measuring cup in the upper kitchen shelf. The garlic is on top of the stainless steel coffee pot. I like it.

Tomorrow -three championship dogs... and their master too of course. Hoping it is a rainless day.

29/365 Piranha

My Piranha. Actually is is a funky blue metal fish that I got at Charter House Interiors and I love it!! Tonight I wanted to play with a new addition to my photo collection - a reflector! And it comes with black, white and gold options! I thought I would have fun with the gold.

I discovered just how tricky it is to calculate flash intensity and angle of reflection to get the image in my minds eye onto my camera! Think it and make it... but not quite. Maybe I should have taken high school physics. But instead I married a math/physics guy. Unfortunately he is out at a movie with #1 son tonight.

Here's the recipe...
1 large round gold reflector
2 tall candle holders - large base is suggested
1 remote flash set to underexpose 2 stops
1 camera instruction book to get the setting on the camera to match the flash.
1 bookcase to hold up the reflector.
2 very talented feet
