We babysat today... and cleaned out two buffets and the front hall, painted a vase and rearranged a silk flower arrangement. Sweetheart raked leaves, took down the Christmas lights, cleaned out the central vac and managed a few hours at the office. Spring fever I suppose.

She is starting to miss her Mom when we babysit and sometimes we don't get a smile for three straight hours.

119 of 365 Place of Reflection

The dining room can be a place of great kerfuffle and busyness as guests are served, food passed, dishes removed and yet another course served.
But most days the dining room is a quiet place for the sun to reflect and me to just sit and enjoy.

Thankful for quiet moments.
Thankful it is Friday.
I might go to bed before the sun tonight. :)

One of my co-workers gave me this orchid and the most wonderful sympathy card.
It is spectacular.
So beautiful. And I am blessed with her kindness and love.
My co-workers all gave me a beautiful card signed by each of them and a memory box that plays Amazing Grace when it is opened. That brought tears and made the first hour of work a little hard this am. :)
Neighbors dropped off warm bran muffins at 7:15 am this morning along with another beautiful card.
I am so blessed with and thankful for loving and kind neighbors and co-workers.

Yes on occasion I can be domestic. I had planned to take them to work last week to celebrate Easter with my wonderful co-workers, but as you know plans do change when life throws us a curve ball. So I decided to take make them for supper tonight and to take them to work anyways.

112 of 365 Swan Lake Hike

Today Dave, Mom and I hiked around Swan Lake - about an hours walk. We took a little longer because I had my camera with me. :) I didn't see one swan - apparently there aren't any. ???
I have lots of photos and a few of birds including a stunning bird with lime green on his back - never seen that before. I also got a shot of a hummingbird. Unfortunately I don't have Lightroom on Dad's old computer here so I can't crop them in to show you. Instead I will share with you pussy willows just going to seed.
We are getting lots of walking in every day - it feels just fine.

You can never complain about not having something to read in Victoria. If you finish all the local news flyers then there is sure to be a used book store on a corner nearby. This morning on our early walk through James Bay, we discovered a lovely quiet coffee shop that was inside a used book store. And just up the street at a flower shop were nine free local news papers from various interest groups.

A walk on the boardwalk along the ocean in Sooke with Mom and Dad, Grandma and Grandpa and great Grandma (Oldemar- Norwegian for grandmother)... and some bubbles, made for a fun afternoon.

Stopped by the harbour at sunset on our way back to our hotel so I could geta 365 shot. It has been a busy and exhausting day - lots of visitors. Mom is holding up so well.

Mom's great granddaughter keeps us entertained and distracted and is a sure sign that life goes on.
We are busy with plans and entertaining on Sunday and then we settle into helping Mom tie up all those loose ends. Dad took care of 99% of them already, bless him. Always organized and not willing that anyone should carry a burden that he could carry for them, even after he is gone, he is helping us all and Mom especially.

I bought this plant a week ago. I tend to it carefully and hope to plant it in the garden. 

The leaves keep growing but the flowers are dieing prematurely. 

My Dad went into the Palliative Care Unit today. 

A time for every activity under heaven. 

I'm not great with words but will let my photos and scripture replace them.  

Will be heading to Victoria shortly and will try to keep up the 365.

This is embarrassing - more food shots. But I am so busy around here and I stopped for a moment to have supper and a game of scrabble with the guys and so got my 365 shot.
Dave has been making chili all afternoon and Harold has been making cookies - guests tomorrow - I supervised and worked on my computer. No, really I worked. The only play was to refresh my blog - that was a mistake but I will live with it for now.
